I honestly can’t remember where I read this stuff—Myspace blogs? The liner notes of an album? Or do!). NOFX was a guiding light in the Bush years, Rancid yelled anthems for a noble underground, Operation Ivy was so legendarily about unity and peace that I believed their lead singer left the band to become a holy man of some sort for a while. Part of the plot hinges on Apollo acquiring a first edition of To Kill A Mockingbird, signed by Harper Lee to her childhood friend, Truman Capote, talking about the father that they knew.
